SUZUMIYA HARUHI NO YUUUTSU: KYON & SUZUMIYA HARUHI
STATUS: UPCOMING (5% COMPLETE)
Kyon is a normal high school student who no longer believes in anything out of the ordinary such as aliens, time travelers or espers. On the first day of school, he ends up sitting in front of Suzumiya Haruhi, an eccentric girl who is bored with the world and does not wish to waste her time with ordinary humans. After her rather strange introduction, Kyon cannot seem to get his mind off of her and wonders what she has planned in her mind. The rest of the class is surprised that Haruhi actually talks with Kyon, as she barely speaks to anyone. Kyon accidentally gives Haruhi the idea of forming her own club, and as a result is dragged into her creation - the SOS Brigade. Though Kyon complains about Haruhi and can only come up with comebacks in his mind, the two of them form a strong bond throughout their wacky adventures and activities. Though not always for "good" reasons, Haruhi is almost constantly on Kyon's mind and she ends up quite attached to him. It turns out that Haruhi is actually "God" and Kyon, the regular human, is the only aspect of the current world that matters to her.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu was another one of those series I resisted getting into for awhile. I cannot remember exactly why, but I ended up sitting down and watching a few episodes and I became literally obsessed with the relationship of Kyon and Haruhi. Seriously, I was up until 2:30 in the morning saving over one hundred screenshots of them together. My AIM buddy icon was them, my MSN icon, my wallpaper, you name it. They quickly became my favorite relationship out of any series ever. How often do you see a girl who abuses the guy in the relationship and he can only form come backs in his mind? Not to mention they totally deny liking each other when it is pretty obvious that Haruhi gets really jealous when he is with other girls and Kyon spends most of his time thinking about her anyway (though not always in a good way?). I love relationships where both of the people deny caring for the other, but really do on the inside, so they already scored points with me. There is just something about them, but I cannot really put my finger on it. They really made the series enjoyable for me.
