Cliff is a member of the organization Quark, and leaves his planet in order to find a teenage boy named Fayt under orders from his leader. He finds Fayt in quite a pinch, rescues him, and the two attempt to get back to Cliff's leader. Unfortunately, things do not go according to plan. They are attacked while in their spaceship, and are forced to land on a less advanced planet than their own. Cliff and Fayt are imprisoned as they find themselves in a country divided by war, and meet a female ninja named Nel who promises to let them free if they aid her in her country's weapon of war. The three of them eventually become companions and they meet more people along the way. One event unfolds into another and the group of friends (and foes) are thrown into an adventure across time that will change them forever.

I knew a bit about Cliff before I actually began to play the game, as I had a few months to look into it. Caity was a huge fan of the game and persuaded me to buy it as well. As I was playing, I thought that Fayt was pretty neat and planned on making a shrine to him, but Cliff kept making me laugh almost every time he said or did something. Soon enough, I realized that he had somehow become my favorite character from the game and my plans of who I was going to shrine obviously changed. He may come off as a goof who is always ready for a fight and does not take things seriously, but he is actually a kind guy who formed quite the organization. Cliff never fails to put me in a better mood, and he is my favorite character to play as in battle. I really do not believe that I would have enjoyed the game as much if he were not a part of it, and therefore I know he is a favorite. As soon as my party members stop dying every time I try to train them, I will get moving on this tribute.
