Enter the Tamer

Takato wakes up floating high above the ground, unable to move. He frantically looks around, trying to get a grasp on the situation, when he sees a shadow below. The camera changes, and a red-haired female removes her sunglasses. She is standing before the fire cat Digimon and casually says,

"It's Lynxmon versus Renamon."

A shadow appears behind her, and as she moves out of the way, Renamon looks up as she is attacked by Lynxmon. Renamon, pinned to the ground, does nothing, but her tamer on the other hand, takes out a few Digimon Cards. Takato recognizes her as a Digimon tamer as she slashes one of the Digimon cards through her blue D-Power, a similar device that he himself has. The camera switches back to Renamon and Lynxmon, and she darts out from beneath the fire cat, quickly using her Diamond Storm attack. The glass like fragments hit Lynxmon in an explosion, and then Takato finds himself back in bed.

Sometime later, the same girl is seen running towards a growing cloud, later known as a 'digital field'. Removing her sunglasses yet again, she simply utters "Renamon" as her partner appears beside her. Looking down at her D-Power, she finds that the Digimon they are about to face is Goblimon and says "Ugh, he's just a rookie?! Where's the sport in that? Walk all over him, Renamon." Goblimon makes the first move, but Renamon is too quick to be taken down that easily. She taunts the goblin Digimon and the fight is drawn out. Renamon addresses the girl as "Rika" when saying that he is not losing strength. Rika replies that this is boring her, and uses another Digimon card to strengthen Renamon. However, Goblimon takes that chance to Digivolve into Fugamon. It is not enough, for Renamon takes him out anyway with another one of her Diamond Storm attacks. Rika commands Renamon to download the data from Fugamon and she does so.

"Next time you'll win...without my help."

Later that day, Takato is trying to find a spot to hide Guilmon, when Renamon comes out of no where and kicks him into the fence. Takato yells in his defense, and Rika appears simply commenting on what a lousy fighter Guilmon is. Takato recognizes Rika as the girl from his dream, and does not believe that he is seeing her now. She dismisses his comment and tells him that it is time to fight. Takato defends himself saying that he is not a bad tamer, and Guilmon is just young. Rika tells Renamon to go and attack Guilmon again, but Takato tries to get her to stop saying they don't want to fight.

"I knew you were just a little boy with a pet Digimon. What do you think Digimon were made for you goofy little goggle-head!?"

The fight begins as Guilmon does not listen to Takato's advice and tries to fight Renamon. The two Digimon begin to roll around in the dirt, and Rika shouts that she is being sloppy before using a modify card. Renamon gains some armor on her hand, and Guilmon comes back to his senses, running over to Takato. She notices what a bond the two have and hesitates to attack. Rika does not even pay any attention and demands to know what is wrong with her since she is not attacking. After another pause, Renamon goes and attacks again but a voice yells to stop. The four of them turn and see Henry and Terriermon coming toward them.

He asks why they are fighting, to which Rika replies is a dumb question and asks what else are they supposed to do. Henry tells her that Digimon are not fighting machines, and they are friends that want to do what they do.

"Well, Renamon wants to fight. So do I for that matter."

Rika walks away, followed by Renamon who takes one last look at the two boys and their Digimon.
