KIKYOU from INUYASHA -- I started watching InuYasha when I was in seventh grade, but I did not discover Kikyou's character until after I bought the game InuYasha Feudal Fairytale for the Playstation. From the moment I unlocked her character, I knew she was going to be one of my favorite characters of all time. It turned out that I was right, as she is my favorite female character of all time. Though I do not agree with all of the things that she does, I admire her and respect the fact that she has a reason for all of her actions. Kikyou has had so much bashing and hatred over the years on the net, and that just fueled my desire to shrine her even more. Of course, for as much hatred as she had, she had as many shrines to people who loved her. Unfortunately, the InuYasha fandom has died tremendously, and there is barely anything left. I hope to provide a decent Kikyou source for those who still like the fandom. Once known as the very crappy shrine entitled "Faded Light" long ago, Alterna is one of my dearest tributes to my favorite female anime character.

NIMURA KENSUKE X TSUCHIMIYA KAGURA from GA-REI -- I decided to read The Enchained Spiritual Beast Ga-Rei on a whim after browsing the fanlisting to the series. I did not really expect to get so heavily into the series because it is not very popular, but boy was I wrong. The relationship between Kensuke and Kagura also deeply touched me in some fashion, and I knew I was going to have to make some sort of dedication to them. Kensuke has a strong desire to protect her from her fate, that even he himself does not understand. I believe that their meeting was destined and that is the true reason why he wanted to protect her before he even knew who she was. Regardless, the way these two interact and are able to fight side by side has definitely left a mark on me and they quickly became one of my favorite relationships of all time. Kensuke makes me want to bang my head on a desk because he is so dense, but I believe their relationship will work out in the end! If you have not looked into the series already, I highly suggest you do so because it is very good.

RIKA NONAKA & RENAMON from DIGIMON TAMERS -- All of the girls up until season three of Digimon were generally very kind, sweet, and feminine, so when I was introduced to Rika's character, I was automatically attracted. Rika not only looked different, but she was definitely not someone to be messed with, and was the first to not treat her partner with respect right off the bat. I did not agree with how she treated Renamon (and other Digimon for that matter) in the beginning, of course, but I really liked her character because of the development she undergoes during the series. Rika was always quick to think on her feet, as well as very knowledgeable about Digimon and the card game. She was my idol when I was a kid, and started the trend of me liking those types of female characters. Rika impressed me, and definitely left a mark as a childhood favorite. Renamon, of course, left the same impression. I decided to merge my old Renamon shrine, Eclipse into this one, so it doubles as a shrine to both partners.

INUYASHA from INUYASHA -- It's about time this thing showed up! Inuyasha has been one of my favorite male characters since 2003 when I first started watching the series occasionally. I loved how even though he was an arrogant jerk majority of the time, he was actually considerate, loyal and very protective on the inside. Males like him tend to appeal to me more so than others, and I suppose that is why I have liked him for so long. His total dedication to protect the people he cares about really moved me and it soon became easy to see past his outer shell that he almost constantly has in order to protect himself from being hurt. The desire to protect people as well as his quirky actions and habits had me hooked. I had failed making this tribute many times in the past, and even gave up the project completely. One night, however, I happened to be completely inspired to work on it, and I said "what the heck?" and went for it. The shrine is not large by any means, as I have not kept up with the series since it is way too long, but I just had to make something dedicated to him because he is a very important character to me.

AMANE MISA from DEATH NOTE -- I was not sure about Death Note for quite some time, even though I had a bunch of different people telling me how great of a series it was. Regardless, I always thought Misa looked really cool for some reason. I saw her on a domain a long time ago before I actually knew who she was and thought "I wonder who this girl is...why do I think I would like her?" Which, you know, automatically means that I will when I do end up finding out more about her. My friend Kara got into Death Note, and after some time I decided I should look into it as well. I realized the girl on the layout I saw a year or so before was Misa, and I got the same feeling about her. I do not agree with everything she does, but I personally believe she is a wonderful character. She has a lot of people who hate her or feel indifferent, but I plan to give her the support she deserves. Misa is not a "stupid" and "annoying" girl, and you can count on me to prove it.

MISORA NAOMI from DEATH NOTE -- Now some of you who are familiar with Death Note and its characters may be wondering why I would make a shrine to such a minor character that is only in a few episodes and chapters of the series. However, Naomi is really my favorite female character from Death Note because she is smart, collected and also quick to think on her feet. She is pretty much the epitome of the female characters that I like, so I could not resist making some sort of shrine to her, even if it was small. People have even told me that Naomi reminds them a lot of myself, and I suppose I would have to agree. If I were somehow transformed into a Death Note character, Naomi would be who I would be. Hey, I have even gotten her a few times taking personality quizzes! Anyway, she may not compare in spotlight time to other characters, but I believe she has a significant role in the story nonetheless.
